About Moi

Khaled Sultan is what I’m known as. Islamic Investing is what I am interested in. I will use this blog to share, with those who are interested, information about that which I love… combining prosperity in this life with that in the afterlife.

I’ve lived in Toronto for some time now, but some still refer to me as a Londoner (Ontario, Canada).

I’m married (to the love of my life).

I’m completing my MBA (majoring in finance – of course).  Prior to the MBA, my educational background was in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.  Yes, deep down inside, I’m a nerd.

I sometimes program for fun (scary, I know).

Objective: please my Maker.

Love to spend my time reading (I don’t seem to be doing a lot of that lately), and running (hoping to run in a marathon in the near future).

I would love to hear from you, so drop me a comment or two.

    Assalamu Alaikum Khaled Sultan

Read your article on investing in the stock market (posted last year).

My quick question was that is true that we cannot borrow money at all to fund investments? Even if the money is interest free? Could you please quote any sources you are aware of that support this view.

If this is true, then how would one start of a business?

    Regards and Ma’aSalam

Not being a scholar, I can only give my opinion. Borrowing money on an usury free basis would be acceptable and encouraged. Not sure such sources of financing are readily available though.
